Opportunities and Challenges of Cross-border M&A? ARC Capital partners invited to speak at China M&A Summit

On January 14, 2020, our partner, Sergio Camarero, was invited to speak at The 17th China M&A summit 2020, hosted by The Global Initiator Consulting Group.

The meeting aims to enhance the practicality and techniques as well as prevent the potential risks of cross-border mergers and acquisitions. The conference invited a number of experts to share their insights. Especially amidst the global economic downturn, the scope of cross-border mergers and acquisitions are expected to fall from $2.8 trillion in 2019 to $2.1 trillion in 2020. Globally, many investors and companies with capital are on the sidelines, waiting for the opportunity to advance both domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions. The conference also discusses, how to maximize the probability of successful mergers and acquisitions, how to ensure the success of cross-border transactions through mature strategies and solutions. The conference participants include: Bao Steel Group, Amco, Ernst & Young, Zhonglun Law Firm and other recognised firms.

Our partner, Sergio Camarero, discussed the recent changes in the global and Chinese M&A space, the M&A global market, M&A China trends & opportunities. Hot topics include Capital Liquidity, China’s overall competitiveness, changes in the regulatory environment, changes in China’s domestic market and business climate, and the increasing openness to the outside world. Also, the challenges and strategies that companies will face in cross-border M&A, such as the US-China trade war, capital restrictions and cultural differences was heavily discussed. Finally, he shared ARC’s recent cross-border M&A case studies.
